Corporate, Educational, and Healthcare Cafes

STAMP

Our Strategic Talent Acquisition Management Program (STAMP) was designed to offer customizable staffing support for companies with self-run kitchen operations.

Originally created for a San Francisco-based tech company, STAMP has evolved over the years to give self-run kitchens across the nation the ability to expand through unique and personalized services. Complete with onsite management, a designated recruiting team, and a 24/7 answering service, we take care of your day-to-day operations by handling everything from recruitment and training, to PTO and benefits. Each member of our staff is insured, bonded, and background checked with a Food Handlers Card obtained through our partnership with eFoodHandlers.

Situation Overview
Many technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area adopted the strategy of offering benefits like three meals per day, unlimited snacks and open bars to attract computer engineers. The next step was recruiting high-end chefs to grow their kitchens from the ground up.

Challenges
These companies’ chefs lacked the time and resources to manage the day-to-day Human Resources aspects of their kitchens. In addition, due to the potential to IPO, it was important to keep all food & beverage associates off of the startups’ payroll.

Solution
The Service Companies was selected by these startups due to our existing presence in supplemental food service staffing and our understanding of a kitchen’s daily demands. We created a customized plan (including PTO, medical benefits, vacation and sick time, time clock tracking, payroll options, customized recruitment, onsite supervisors, tailored orientation and more) to meet each chef’s needs while allowing them to retain total control of their kitchen.

Results
Our STAMP program allowed self-run kitchens to expand beyond measure. Chefs grew their kitchens how they liked, at the speed they needed and with the team they preferred. As a result, The Service Companies has become the leading partner for self-run kitchen operations in the country. STAMP clients now range from 12 associates a day to over 100 associates with zero co-employment issues.

Temp to Perm Placement

In the event that our customer’s needs go beyond temporary staffing, we offer temp to perm placement to all properties we service. Our team handles every detail, from sourcing and interviewing to finding the right candidate in short period of time. 

For more permanent staffing needs, we offer a temp to perm solution that allows you to evaluate employees to ensure they are the right fit for your operation. After an agreed upon number of hours, the employee may be converted to a direct employee of your business. We also offer employee buyouts based on shorter terms to allow flexibility in filling your roles.

To accomplish this and provide superior customer service, we have developed a rigorous selection process that ensures each associate within our Hospitality Services division is trained and prepared for any role.

Our selection process includes an application (with a written testing section), oral interviews, and reference verification. We process background checks, E-Verify and provide references to clients upon request. After completing the interview process, each employee completes our 3-hour custom training course, which introduces accepted candidates to all areas of event setup, fine and casual dining, restaurant services, catering services, as well as many other areas of hospitality.

As part of our training process, associates are provided access to TIPS, TEAMS, TABC, ServSafe, LEAD and other food service certification trainings. We consistently maintain each of our 3,000+ active staff member profiles and field performance based on client feedback from previous jobs.
