Our History

The Service Companies was founded in 1987 to provide third shift cleaning services to the hospitality industry in Southern Florida. Today the company is the nation’s true one-stop-shop for services, spanning over 40 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas, and over 1,500 gaming, hospitality and facility services customers.聽

  • The Service Companies’ predecessor is founded. A pioneer in offering specialized third shift cleaning services focused on marble floor care and kitchen cleaning, the Company begins offering these services to the Hotel industry in South Florida.

  • The Service Companies was selected as an opening partner for The Ritz-Carlton brand, a relationship that continues today, with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach.

  • The mid 1990s featured a period of growth for The Service Companies with its expansion outside of Florida and entrance into the Atlanta market at the iconic Hyatt Regency Atlanta in preparation for the Centennial Olympic Games.

  • The Service Companies expands their service offerings to the Gaming industry by including turn-key casino, public areas cleaning and stewarding at its first gaming customer in Northern Nevada.

  • Following the acquisition of the company from the founders, the company brings on an elite team of hotel and casino executives to fully launch the new vision for The Service Companies: to become the premier provider of managed services to all segments of the hospitality industry.

  • The Service Companies expands their service offering again by adding full turn-key housekeeping. Today, The Service Companies cleans 554,000 hotel rooms a month and growing.

  • The Service Companies acquires JRS International, the premier provider of window and chandelier cleaning to luxury properties for the last 30 years. This acquisition expands our service offering.

  • The Service Companies acquires its first laundry operation in Florida, further realizing the Company’s vision of becoming the premier provider of managed services to all segments of the hospitality industry.

  • With the assistance of CDG-NYC, a leading international branding firm, the company goes through a complete re-branding, leading to a new and enhanced corporate focus and identity, as well as a brand platform to support the company’s growth and the integration of future acquisitions.

  • The Service Companies acquires Acrobat Outsourcing, the leading national hospitality staffing firm, enabling the company to add another new service offering, trained Food and Beverage service staffing. Acrobat Outsourcing is now known as The Service Companies’ Hospitality Services division.

  • With the opening of a vacation ownership resort in Orlando, The Service Companies solidifies its position as the largest provider of Luxury Residential Resort cleaning, and adds a new service offering, pool cleaning and maintenance.

  • The Service Companies acquires Atlanta-based Drake Staffing, which becomes part of the company’s Hospitality Services division. This acquisition adds a critical region for growth and brings the company one step closer to realizing its vision to be the only nationwide provider for trained food and beverage professional staff.

  • In its fifth acquisition in as many years, The Service Companies acquired Majesty Hospitality Staffing, cementing The Service Companies as the premier one-stop-shop for outsourced trained Food and Beverage staffing.

  • The Service Companies was acquired by investment firm Gridiron Capital, LLC. The partnership positions The Service Companies for rapid growth and expansion.

  • The Service Companies acquired MCR Facility Services, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions in the United States. With this acquisition, The Service Companies launched its Engineering Services business unit, adding facility engineering services as a new line of service.
